About Birdies 4 Bipolar
Birdies 4 Bipolar is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to creating positive change through mental health awareness, education, and community-driven support. Our mission is rooted in instilling hope, perseverance, and understanding for individuals and families affected by mental illness.
Through the game of golf, we work to impact lives, empower youth, improve quality of life, and educate people of all ages. Golf serves as a powerful tool for connection and healing—teaching honesty, integrity, patience, perseverance, work ethic, and the importance of a positive mindset.
Birdies 4 Bipolar proudly raises funds to support U.S. veterans, including those preparing to compete in events such as the Missouri Amputee Golf Tournament. For veterans and civilians alike, golf is a proven form of recreational therapy that encourages social interaction, mental focus, and overall well-being.
At our core, we are committed to erasing the false stigmas surrounding mental illness and replacing them with education, empathy, and action.
Mental illness is a global issue—and golf is a global game. Birdies 4 Bipolar aims to reach communities far and wide by promoting integrity, resilience, and the science of well-being both on and off the course.
The Three Pillars of Birdies 4 Bipolar
1. Educate & Advocate
We educate individuals and families living with mental illness to recognize the difference between truth and stigma. Our work addresses conditions such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Chronic Depression, PTSD, ADHD, Eating Disorders, OCD, Schizophrenia, Substance Abuse, and Bipolar Disorder. Nearly one in four people will be diagnosed with some form of mental illness—education matters.
2. Support Veterans Through Golf
We generate funds to support United States military and amputee veterans in the St. Louis and Southern Illinois regions by providing access to recreational therapy golf leagues and competitive opportunities. Golf helps bridge social connection, restore confidence, and improve mental health for our nation’s heroes.
3. Fundraise for Awareness & Impact
We conduct and host mental health awareness events—including golf tournaments and stand-up comedy shows—across the United States. Proceeds from these events are reinvested into local mental health organizations to expand resources, education, and community support.
